Based on all of the customer reviews most recently posted, the new Garmin Oregon 550 3-Inch Handheld GPS Navigator hit the market long before it should have! The main negative comment that has been stated throughout has been dealing with the screen. While in direct sunlight, it is extremely hard to read the GPS information presented without turning the background light incredibly high, then draining from the batteries in a major way. The main positive point that has been shared among the customers deals with the digital camera and how it provides a decent service for just being an additional accessory.
All in all, after reviewing the Garmin Oregon 550 3-Inch Handheld GPS Navigator device, we have come to the conclusion that this new Garmin system has way too many bugs to be worked out before we can offer our whole hearted recommendations. Although we do believe that this device holds a major amount of potential, we feel that it may be a good idea to give Garmin some time to work out all of the kinks before purchasing this product.
