Based solely on the customer reviews recently posted in response to the new Garmin Forerunner 310XT GPS Enabled Sports Watch, the overall quality is questionable. Garmin has claimed that this new sports watch can handle both running and swimming, but when you access the main menu, swimming is nowhere to be found, making it an extreme let down on behalf of many of the customers. Now, the one thing that has been stated by customers that does lead more towards a praise report is the accuracy of the running application. However, these praises have frequently been met by another statement of regret, as this application tends to be off by a few feet when attempting to calculate the gradual elevation during a run.
Since the majority of the customer reviews seem to push either one way or another, we decided to purchase and test out the new Garmin Forerunner 310XT GPS Enabled Sports Watch. What we found caused mixed emotions. Garmin is an excellent company and have released many invaluable devices in recent years. The 50 meter depth water proof exterior does live up to its claim, though it is too little, too late. Having said that, if you desire to purchase this device, it would be in your best interest to consider using it for only measuring your heart rate while running or jogging, anything else might lead to falsified information.
