The overall reaction of the customers has been generally positive with the exception of the minor complaint dealing with the included base maps. The one thing that has come out that has been generally positive was the increased sensory range, as the new Garmin eTrex Venture HC GPS Receiver carries a signal within most non populated areas. That said, the biggest praise that the Garmin eTrex Venture HC GPS Receiver has received is the WAAS receiver technology, as it has been stated that this system has made it possible to head out into the confines of nature without running the risk of ever getting lost.
Our review of the new Garmin eTrex Venture HC GPS Receiver system concluded the same results than that of the customers, as we were also rather impressed with the accuracy of the new WAAS receiver technology, as well as the base map updating USB connection. That said, we would like to acknowledge that this newer Garmin model has greatly exceeded our initial expectations, though we were unable to test the USB Firmware connection on a Macintosh system, however, with the continued praise coming from Macintosh users, we did not feel that it would be necessary. If you own a previous Garmin GPS device that has yet to be equipped with WAAS receiver technology, then we highly recommend upgrading to this newer model. If you have yet to purchase a handheld GPS from Garmin, the new Garmin eTrex Venture HC GPS Receiver system can also be understood by an inexperienced individual!
